How live-in care near you works
When families search for live-in care near me, they often expect to find a local branch with a few miles' radius, the way visiting care agencies work. Live-in care is different. The carer moves into your relative's home and lives there for the length of the placement, so what matters is finding the right person, not the nearest one. That is why we can cover a Highland croft, a Cornish village or a flat in central London at the same weekly price, and why rural and coastal addresses that hourly agencies turn down are no problem for us.
We match carers across the UK and Ireland on skills, experience and personality, then introduce them to you. You read profiles, speak to candidates by video call and choose. The carer travels to your relative's home, settles in and follows an agreed care plan, with a two-hour break each day and a proper night's sleep. If your relative needs support awake all night, two carers working in turn is the safer arrangement.
Live-in care across the UK: what changes by nation
The care itself is the same everywhere, but the rules around it are not. In England, London and the regions, councils assess needs and may contribute depending on savings, with the Care Quality Commission regulating care providers. In Scotland, personal care is free for adults assessed as needing it, and the Care Inspectorate regulates services. Wales caps what councils can charge each week for care at home, and has its own regulator, Care Inspectorate Wales. In Northern Ireland, Health and Social Care Trusts rather than councils assess and arrange care. In the Republic of Ireland, home support runs through the HSE, and our prices are in euro. Each region page explains the local picture, including which council or Trust to contact.
Choosing a live-in care agency near you
Whether you use us or another provider, a few questions separate a good live-in care agency from the rest. How are carers checked, and can you see their references? Do you choose the carer, or is one assigned? How are the carer's daily breaks covered, and what happens if they fall ill? Is the weekly fee fixed, and what is included? And is the agency an employer of carers or an introductory agency? We are an introductory agency: we recruit, check and match self-employed carers, you choose who supports your relative, and we stay involved for support, cover and replacements.
Starting care quickly, wherever you are
Most placements begin within a week of your first call. If your relative is in hospital and ready to leave, tell us the ward and the expected discharge date; in urgent cases we can often introduce a carer within 24 to 48 hours. The price is the same across the UK, from £1,200 a week, with specialist care from £1,300 and two carers from £2,600.
