Why families choose us

What makes our care different

1

You choose the carer

We send you profiles of matched, available carers and you decide — including a video call first if you’d like one.

2

One carer, not a rota

The same person every day means they learn the routine and spot small changes early, long before they become emergencies.

3

A named care manager

One person who knows your family and answers the phone — never an anonymous call centre.

4

Care can start fast

In urgent cases, such as a hospital discharge, we can often have a carer in place within 24–48 hours.

5

Couples stay together

One live-in carer can support two people under a single plan — usually far better value than two care home places.

6

Clear weekly pricing

A single fixed fee covering the agreed care plan. No hidden charges for everyday care.

Jason went beyond the call of duty to help us in our time of need to find us suitable carers for our elderly parents. On one occasion with hardly any prior notice. The carers provided excellent care and gave us peace of mind that our mum and dad were in good hands. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and forever grateful.

Common questions

Questions families ask us most

The things people search for before they call us — answered plainly.

Not seeing your question?

Our care managers answer these every day. A no-obligation call takes about ten minutes.

0800 368 8558Lines open 8am–10pm, seven days a week See all questions
Do live-in carers pay for their own food?

No. The household provides food for the carer as part of the arrangement, and it is normally budgeted at a modest weekly amount. Carers are self-employed and cover their own personal costs, but everyday meals eaten in the home are provided. It is set out clearly in the care agreement so there are no surprises.

Do live-in carers pay rent?

No. The carer needs their own room in the home for the duration of the placement, and no rent is charged either way. They are working in your home rather than living there as a tenant, and the room is theirs only while the placement runs.

What are the rules about live-in carers?

A live-in carer needs their own bedroom, reasonable access to a bathroom and kitchen, and proper rest — normally a two-hour break each day and at least eight hours of undisturbed sleep. If nights are regularly broken, that points to waking-night cover or a second carer rather than stretching one person. Carers are self-employed professionals introduced by us, not our employees.

Does a live-in carer sleep at night?

Yes. A live-in carer sleeps in their own room and is there if something happens during the night. If your relative needs help repeatedly overnight, one carer cannot safely cover both days and nights, and we would recommend 24 hour care with waking-night cover or two carers in rotation.

How much does a live-in carer cost per week?

From £1,200 a week for one person, or £1,300 where more personal or overnight support is needed. Two carers for continuous specialist cover is £2,600. It is a single weekly fee covering the agreed care plan, and one carer can support a couple under one fee.

Will the council pay for live-in care?

Sometimes. Start with a free needs assessment from your local authority, followed by a financial assessment. Depending on savings and circumstances you may receive full funding, part funding or a personal budget. NHS Continuing Healthcare is separate and covers care driven by health needs. Our funding guide sets out the order to apply in.

What does a live-in carer actually do?

Personal care, medication, cooking, light housework, laundry, shopping, appointments and company. Practically, it means your relative keeps their own home, routine and pets, with one familiar person there rather than a rota of visitors.

Is live-in care cheaper than a care home?

For one person the weekly cost is broadly comparable to a good care home. For couples it is usually markedly cheaper, because one carer supports both people under a single fee while two residential placements are charged twice. You also avoid selling or emptying the family home.
