Jewish Live-in Care at home

Jewish Live-In Care Agency

Culturally sensitive, fully personalised 24-hour support in the comfort of your own home from our Jewish family to yours. Jewish Care is close to our hearts and we will help keep your loved ones safe and secure in the comfort of their own homes, without the need of being uprooted into a residential care home.

Choosing a Jewish-run live-in care agency offers a level of understanding and reassurance that goes far beyond standard care. It means entrusting your loved ones to people who truly appreciate the customs, values and heartfelt traditions that shape Jewish family life. Whether it’s maintaining a kosher home, preparing familiar foods, observing Shabbat with the proper respect, or supporting the rhythm of the Chagim, our carers bring a deep cultural awareness that makes everyday care feel natural, seamless and dignified.

A live-in carer and client together at home

This shared cultural foundation provides an extra layer of emotional safety—your loved ones aren’t just being looked after; they are being understood. They are surrounded by warmth, familiarity and genuine connection, allowing them to stay anchored to their identity, their routine and their home environment.

Alongside this cultural sensitivity, we take safety and security extremely seriously. Our carers are thoroughly vetted, expertly trained and supported around the clock by a dedicated management team. We prioritise safeguarding, consistency and reliability, ensuring that families can entrust us with even the most delicate care needs with total peace of mind.

Respectful, Compassionate Jewish Live-In Care

At Live-in Care Direct, we understand that high-quality care must also respect your culture, beliefs, and daily traditions.

Our Jewish Live-In Care service is designed to support clients who wish to remain in their own home while maintaining a Jewish lifestyle, including kosher dietary needs, Sabbath observance and Jewish festivals.

Our carers provide 24-hour support while honouring what matters most to you — dignity, independence, faith, and familiarity.

How Our Jewish Live-In Care Works?

A professional live-in carer moves into your home to provide full-time, around-the-clock support.

This includes:

Personal care and daily living assistance

Medication prompting and health-related support

Meal preparation with respect to kosher rules and dietary preferences

Light housekeeping, laundry and home management

Assistance with synagogue attendance or connecting to services online

Help preparing for Shabbat and Jewish festivals

You receive continuity, stability, and care tailored to your lifestyle.

Kosher-Aware Support

We understand the importance of maintaining a kosher kitchen and home environment.

Carers can support with:

Respecting existing kitchen organisation

Using designated utensils following household practice

Helping with preparation for Shabbat meals and Jewish holidays

Respecting any level of observance — from traditional to strictly kosher homes

Our focus is always on respecting your household’s established routines.

Supporting Religious Observance

Our live-in carers are trained to support clients who observe:

Shabbat (e.g., assisting with preparation beforehand, avoiding activities you do not wish to do during Sabbath hours)

Jewish festivals such as Passover, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Chanukah and more

Community life, including companionship for synagogue attendance or arranging transport

We tailor our service to each individual and their preferred level of observance.

Questions about jewish live-in care

What families ask us before arranging care.

Our care managers answer these every day. A no-obligation call takes about ten minutes.

How much does jewish live in care cost?

Jewish Live in Care starts from £1,200 a week for one person. That is one fixed weekly fee covering everything in the agreed care plan, rather than an hourly rate that rises as needs grow. For couples, one carer can support two people under a single fee. See our pricing page for the full breakdown, or use the cost calculator for an estimate based on your own situation.

How quickly can care start?

In most cases we can have a carer in place within a week. For urgent situations — a hospital discharge, a fall, or a family carer suddenly unable to continue — we can often arrange cover within 24 to 48 hours.

Who will the carer be, and do we get a choice?

You choose. We send profiles of matched, available carers and you decide, including a video call beforehand if you would like one. It is the same carer each day rather than a rota, so they learn the routine and notice small changes early. Every carer is enhanced DBS checked, referenced and interviewed in person before we introduce them.

What does the carer actually do day to day?

Personal care, medication prompting and administration, meal preparation, light housework, laundry, shopping, appointments and companionship — all shaped around the agreed care plan. The aim is that daily life continues as normally as possible, in familiar surroundings.

Is this better than moving into a care home?

It depends on the person, and we will say so honestly if a care home is the better answer. What live-in care offers is one-to-one attention rather than shared staffing, no upheaval from a familiar home, pets and routines kept, and visitors whenever you like. For couples it is usually far better value than two residential placements.

Can we get help paying for it?

Often, yes. Depending on circumstances and where you live, support may come through a local authority assessment, NHS Continuing Healthcare, Attendance Allowance or a personal budget. Our funding guide explains what to apply for and in what order, and our care managers will talk it through without obligation.

Where we work

Jewish Live-in Care across the UK, Scotland & Ireland

We arrange care in 800+ towns and cities. Choose your area for local pricing, funding and how care is regulated where you live.

  • Carers travel to you — they move into the home rather than driving from a local branch, so rural and coastal areas are covered too.
  • The same weekly price everywhere — care is priced on the support needed, never on your postcode.
  • Care can start in 24–48 hours in most areas, and often the same day after a hospital discharge.
