Heavy Boost for the UK’s Care Providers: Staffordshire County Council offers an additional £4.4m amid omicron crisis

It is entirely factual that the fight against the Covid-19 hasn’t been a walk in the park. Alongside the physical and psychological pain it causes, financial strain is one negativity we can’t forget.
Research points out that it is primarily the elderly who are at higher risk of succumbing to the virus, which now explains everything. So far, many organisations, institutions, etc., have offered a financial hand supporting these struggles; nonetheless, it’s always not enough. This time, Staffordshire County Council narrowed their support to the help Care Provides, pledging an additional £4.4m available by the end of March.

Staffordshire County Council’s fund will be of great benefit to us
In a simple breakdown, the Staffordshire County Council’s funds had £2.75m going to staff incentive schemes comprising Help with childcare costs and one-off bonus expenses. The rest of the Department of Health & Social Care funds will be expended on staff recruitment campaigns, infection control in homes, and support with hospital discharges.
The Staffordshire County Council’s funds came in as an addition to what the Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Hertfordshire County Council agreed on. Earlier, the two resorted to utilising the government’s money as funds towards the bonus payments for the ‘front liners.’ The term generally defines all health and social care workers.
In a statement made by Staffordshire County Council’s lead on COVID, Dr. Johnny McMahon he said; “Our care workers both in care homes and in supporting people in their own homes, have been on the frontline of this pandemic for nearly two years, dealing with one challenge after another.”
In a continuing statement, further made the following statements;
“We need to do everything we can to both keep and attract the very best staff particularly over the winter months and, while for many working in care is very much a vocation, we hope these potential benefits will go some small way to rewarding their fantastic efforts.”
“Health and care go hand in hand, and in Staffordshire, the NHS and ourselves are very much working together to do what is best for residents and for staff to help us through what is still going to be a very challenging few weeks.”
